Social Network Analysis to Enhance Customer Experience
The world of social networking and the data that it produces are growing faster than most of us can comprehend. This new information source presents an opportunity to better understand customer sentiment, brand awareness, purchasing habits, and more. Not far behind is the growth of data within a service provider’s own network – including call detail, SMS and data transfer. Integrating, sharing, and leveraging social media data with traditional service provider data sources opens the door to a new world of telecom analytics. This workshop will examine the benefits of leveraging social media data sources and telecom analytics in a service provider environment.

Networking Optimization: Preventing Valuable Insights from Dying in the Big Data Avalanche
Data is growing at an extreme rate, given the explosive rise of smart phones, tablets, sensors & M2M technology. As a result, communications service providers have an unprecedented opportunity to better understand how their networks are being utilized and how to better serve their subscribers. But while most enterprises think they know how promising their data is, the truth is, they don’t realize just how much value is hidden in the massive amounts of data they sit on. This session will explore how to effectively analyze data as it rolls in as well as the basic principles and theories of a successful big data analytics deployment. More specifically, it will demonstrate proven, end-to-end solutions that allow executives to make more timely business decisions that reduce operating costs and deliver rapid ROI.

The Role of Real Time Analytics in the Software-Defined Networking Environment
Real time analytics is impacting every aspect of business, and nowhere are the possibilities more exciting than in the world of next-generation networks. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) – almost certainly the “hottest” topic in networking today – will allow information-based intelligence to create efficiencies and drive significant and previously unavailable reductions in network capital and operating costs, while pushing revenue and service monetization possibilities to new heights. Real time analytics and SDN will allow Communications Service Providers to extract significantly more value from their large network, network operations, and infrastructure investments. This session discusses the powerful role that real time analytics will play in the Software-Defined Networking environment of the future, focusing on means and potential to improve network optimization, planning, service pricing and assurance processes and impacts.
Chris Janz, Ph.D. Vice-President, Market Development, Ciena

How Quantum Computing will Change Telecom Forever
With the coming advent of Quantum Computing, data transmission speeds will instantly be quadrupled, and data analysis will be possible in a literal square root of time. In the past couple of years alone, scientists have made huge advances in bringing Quantum Computing closer to reality. Forget Os and 1s and standard binary operations -- qubits in states of superposition will soon allow Quantum Computers to hyper-encode data, use algorithms to search faster, and slice through even 2048-bit encrypion in minutes. With these forthcoming machines being able to literally create new multitasking power as needed, we're on the brink of an industry transformation.
